Depending on your industry, you may call this machine a foam panel feeder, foam sheet destacker, programmable foam feeder, or a foam sheet feeder.

The Union Tool Foam Sheet Feeder simplifies and automates the process of de-stacking foam sheets and feeding them one at a time to a conveyor.

The Union Foam Feeder handles 4'-wide foam sheets from 8' to 16' long, 3/8" to 4" thick, at conveyor speeds up to 100 feet per minute. The Union Foam Feeder System includes the de-stacker/feeder unit with programmable controller, 2 lift tables (one on each side), and 2 loading carts with casters.

The programmable controller can feed the sheets back-to-back with no gap between sheets, or with a fixed interval between sheets if desired, at any conveyor pass line height and at line speeds up to 100 feet per minute.

The Union Tool Foam Feeder will continuously destack and feed foam (EPS) sheets onto various conveyorized processes, accepting foam sheets ranging in size from 4' x 8' up to 4' x 16'. Sheet thickness may range from 3/8" to 4".

  • A vacuum head picks up and positions each sheet over a built-in conveyor leading into the process
  • Foam sheets can be fed with or without feed gap
  • Two separate lift tables lift and maintain a feed height for separate stacks of foam
  • The vacuum head feeds all the foam sheets from one lift, then automatically traverses to the second lift, without missing a foam feed cycle
  • As the second stack of foam is being fed, the first lift station can be reloaded, a full stack at once, from one of the two included loading carts
  • Programmable controller includes foam feed counter and variable conveyor speed, up to 100 feet per minute

Some of the industries we serve:

Recreational Vehicle (RV) Manufacturing — Union Tool is right in the heart of RV and motorhome country, and we've been making machinery for laying up floor, wall and ceiling panels since the industry first took off back in the War years. Travel trailers, mobile homes, fifth wheels, and towables of all kinds are made better, faster, and more profitably with Union Tool machines. These machines are adaptable to other industries as well; basically, anywhere large sheets and panels need to be laminated, coated, painted and glued up.

Entry, Security and Garage Door Manufacturers — Like wall panels in the RV industry, doors are typically sandwich constructions — a frame or core covered with various types of facing panels front and back. Union Tool makes many roller coaters and laminators preferred by door makers, including our new 110-inch "twins" ... a matching hot melt roller coater / laminator pair, big enough to face both sides of a garage door substrate in a single pass.

EPS Foam — EPS foam sheets and panels are used in many manufacturing processes. Union Tool makes several machines specific to EPS foam, and many UT laminators, coaters, feeders and stackers can be adapted to handle EPS foam.

Plastics Packaging & Forming — From application of blister / skin pack material to silicone coating of plastic web materials prior to forming, Union Tool knows how to handle plastic sheets, films and panels.

Metal Stamping, Drawing and Forming — From lubricant coating and painting to wire brush finishing, many Union Tool machines find homes in metalworking plants of all kinds. Stackers and feeders keep those sheets of aluminum, brass, steel, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals moving down the processing line ...

Architectural Glass — Union Tool makes roller coaters specifically designed for glass substrates. The making of spandrel glass especially requires the particularly smooth paint coating that our Reverse Roller Coaters provide ...

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Manufacturing — One of the primary requirements in the manufacture and assembly of printed circuit boards is protecting the surfaces of the boards, which means gentle handling by the edges. While most of the machines in this category are specific to the PCB industry, they can be adapted to handle delicate materials of all kinds where surface protection and precision handling are required.
