Haas VF-6SS models come standard with an innovative 12,000-rpm spindle, an ultra-fast tool changer and 1200 ipm (30.5 m/min) rapids Z & Y axes, 900 ipm (22.9 m/min) X-axis travel. The unique inline, direct-drive system, powered by a 30 hp (22.4 kW) vector drive, couples the motor directly to the spindle. This Haas-only design creates less vibration, less heat and less noise than other systems -- which, of course, means better surface finishes, thermal stability and very quiet operation.
The newly designed 24+1 side-mount tool changer uses lighter materials and a high-performance servomotor, for tool changes that take 1. 6 seconds tool-to-tool.
The Haas control features advanced tool management, single-button features, 15" color LCD monitor and a USB port.
