Viking Pump offers a full line of positive displacement pumps for handling neat and post-dilution polymer metering functions in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment systems. When compared to progressive cavity (PC) pumps, Viking's gear and lobe pump designs have a smaller footprint and Viking's non-contacting lobes will not wear or become damaged if run dry for an extended period of time. All Viking pumps use low shear pumping action, ideal for even the highest viscosity polymers.
For metering neat (undiluted) polymer in OEM polymer makedown systems, Viking offers internal gear, external gear and rotary lobe pumps, all of which can develop pressures of at least 175 psi. These pumps provide low-shear, externally-controllable metering ranging from a few milliliters per minute to more than 10 gpm, with a space-saving footprint.
For post-dilution (blended) polymer metering, Viking offers externally-controllable, stainless steel internal gear and rotary lobe pumps with metering capacities from 0.1 gpm to more than 800 gpm. The internal gear pumps handle high viscosities with great repeatability and low shear, while the rotary lobe pumps, in bi-wing rotor or multi-lobe designs, provide ultra-low shear metering. Unlike PC pumps, Viking's non-contacting lobes can be run dry indefinitely and their small footprint, with straight-through 180-degree ports, allows for simple installation.
