The VC Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Library

Description
In many domains of monitoring, inspection and control, reading a sequence of characters for verification or recognition is an essential part of a final examination. Most often this problem can be reduced to the recognition of a small subset of a font especially constructed for the discrimination task. The VCOCR package contains all the functions for the teaching and verification of printed or otherwise uniformly produced characters.

Features and advantages:

• nearly arbitrary fonts (can be recognised)
• recognition can be done scale and rotation invariant
• detection and recognition of not connected characters (umlaut, tilde, ... )
• calculation of best, second and third best match (output of quality value)
• fast recognition (less than 20 msec on a VC4038/E at character size 20x32)
