Product Announcement from WEDECO, a Xylem brand
Featuring compact size and an innovative flow diverter that enhances hydraulic conditions to improve system performance, the new WEDECO Quadron ultraviolet (UV) system offers better assurance for safe water. With a footprint of just 1200 mm (47,24") x 1448 mm (57") the Quadron completes our range of WEDECO UV products. Now, with this system, we have a product that fits into waterworks with space constraints.
The system enters the market fully validated to specifications outlined in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM). This extensive third party validation process afforded the opportunity to advance the technology and consider all factors that influence disinfection performance of medium pressure UV system design.
"The key to this product is the different testing approach to UVDGM. Our approach considers all the issues related to medium pressure lamps", said Peer Krueger, manager of product management & sales support at ITT's Water and Wastewater business. The validation encompassed flows up to 4,100 m3/h (26 MGD) and UV transmittances as low as 65%.
Another differentiator is the OptiCone™ flow diverter that ensures the same optimal disinfection performance independent of the inflow situation, while maintaining low water head loss as well.
"With a footprint of just 1200 mm (47.24") x 1448 mm (57"), the Quadron completes the range of WEDECO UV product available from ITT", said Kirsten Meyer, product manager at ITT's Water and Wastewater business. "Now, with this system, we have a product that fits into waterworks with space constraints. Those water treatment plants where they have a need to fit a small footprint will find this solution invaluable".
