Radiant Coil Furnaces are ideal for the process heating of liquids and gases to high temperatures and high pressures, where the combination of these two conditions makes it impractical to utilize other heating techniques.
Wellman has built numerous Radiant Coil Furnaces for different applications and has the engineering and design experience for for selecting the coils, mounting them in the furnace chamber and providing the proper heating systems and controls.
One Unit was provided to heat a mixture of natural gas and steam at 3100 PSIG. It was built to heat an acid to 1400 F (760 C) in order to catalyze a chemical reaction. Another large four-coil unit, having a total heat capacity of almost 2.0 megawatts, was designed to heat a process chemical to 1040 F (560 C) at a pressure of 700 PSIG.
