XCA has used their experience with high thermal conductivity pitch fibers to design and construct lightweight high efficiency composite thermal radiators for spacecraft applications
XCA uses highly innovative fiber placement and tooling design to solve the problem of low transverse thermal conductivity through the composite.
Photographs show the radiator for the CRISM instrument that is presently orbiting the planet Mars aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft.
XCA is also working on various other NASA projects developing high thermal capacity heat sinks utilizing phase change materials
