The RX/TX pulse train converter will convert signals from a push pull or NPN encoder to a line driver or vice versa. Line driver signals include complementary outputs A', B', and Z' which offer greater immunity from electrical noise or interference especially when transmission distances exceed the length of the encoder cable. Transmission at 5 volts also reduces signal distortion due to the capacitance effect of long cables. The unit requires power from an 8 to24 volt D.C. output source. It generates a 5 volt D.C. output to power an encoder and to transmit its signals. Output A, B. and Z from a push-pull or NPN output source are converted to signals AA', BB', and ZZ' for transmission and can be converted back again through a second RX/TX unit.
Applications:
To provide 5 volt complementary signals for safer data transmission over long distances between a push-pull, NPN, or PNP transmitter and receiver.
To enable devices with different output/input circuits to be connected.
