Kistler's new, lightweight, low impedance, voltage mode accelerometers are specifically designed for impact and impulse shock or general-purpose vibration measurements. Weighing only 4.5 grams, the 8742A Series features a unique, thermally stable shear quartz sensing element that results in extremely low transverse and base strain sensitivity.
The 8742A shock accelerometer series is available in four ranges of 5, 10, 20 and 50k with sensitivities of 1, 0.5, 0.25, and 0.1 mV/g respectively. All units feature a hermetically sealed, stainless steel housing construction, that ensures reliable operation in adverse environments. An integral base mounting stud assures accurate measurement of short duration transient events. These voltage mode, CE compliant sensors, can be powered by a wide variety of Kistler Piezotron Coupler/Signal Conditioners or from any industry standard IEPE power source.
