Orange Research has developed a series of flow instruments with the ability to transmit data signals. The "smart" microprocesor based instruments are equipped with unique Hall effect sensors that convert the gauges' normal magnetic movements into electric signals. After processing, the units provide analog and digital electronic output for remote location monitoring. Since the usual pointer-and-dial gauges continue to operate, local station readout is always available. Users can select current, voltage, frequency, or RS-232 serial communications signals plus two independantly adjustable relay outputs. Connections to displays, monitors, and controllers are made via standard 3 or 4 wire cable. Two flow transmitters currently are offered. All units feature an EMI/RFI-protected Hall effect sensor and circuitry is housed in an NEMA-4 enclosure. About Orange: Orange Research is a manufacturer of industrial instrumentation, supplying differential pressure, flow and level instruments in the form of gauges, switches and transmitters. Some of the many applications for these products include monitoring filtration equipment, compressors and heat exchangers for a wide variety of industries including oil refining, chemicals and semiconductors, just to name a few!
