The KFRS Series Foil Strain Gages are the smallest commercially available. Designed primarily for the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry, the 1.3mm² foil base package size of the KFRS Series offer PCB manufacturers the ability to gain highly accurate data of the stresses that PCB's, and even individual components, experience during the manufacturing process. This gives manufacturer's important data when monitoring R&D and manufacturing processes, drastically reducing failures, and saves time and money (less reengineering costs resulting from fewer customer failures). The KFRS Series foil strain gages are available in Uniaxial, Biaxial, and Triaxial packages. The Biaxial and Triaxial packages are slightly larger with a foil base package size measuring at 6.25mm². With self-temperature compensation from -30 to 120 ºC and a three (3) lead wire system, the KFRS Series foil strain gages are well suited for severe testing environments.
Features:
· Yields immediate and highly accurate test results.
· Small footprints of 1.3mm² (1.1mm x 1.2mm) for Uniaxial, and 6.25mm² (2.5mm x 2.5mm) for Biaxial and Triaxial.
· Self-temperature compensation between -30 to 120 ºC (–22 to 248 ºF).
· Measure PCB stress throughout the manufacturing process, during component mounting, reflow soldering, PCB depaneling, ICT & Functional Testing. Application examples include BGA testing, cracks on ceramic capacitors and PCB scoring failures.
· Measure stresses to the PCB during chassis mounting, under thermal cycling deformation, drop tests, and fatigue tests.
· Conforms to strain gage standard NAS-942, widely used with the Board Flex Initiative testing procedures.
