Wenglor sensoric announces the release of its series BR40 OCR Vision Sensor. The BR40 OCR vision sensor is very compact with a housing size of only 45x40x35mm. The housing contains a camera with auto-focus and built-in lighting. The BR40 OCR Vision Sensor reads all characters and numbers in every language. Additionally, the BR40 vision sensor can memorize logos, sign combinations, image fragments, and print marks after just one training process. The characters can be printed, needled, pierced, or spotted. The BR40 vision sensor has an auto-focus capability that takes extremely sharp images with a resolution of 752 x 480 pixels. The BR40 vision sensor takes pictures at speeds up to 100 pictures per second. Data is output after evaluation of the pictures to any of 4 outputs via RS-232. The BR40 OCR Vision Sensor is programmed easily via a USB 2.0 interface. The BR40 OCR vision sensor comes with built in white, red, and IR illumination. The working range of the BR40 is greater than 20mm. The service life of the BR40 vision sensor is 100,000 hours. The BR40 vision sensor is ideal for use for applications requiring vision capability at a reasonable price point.

Accessories including additional illumination, cabling, filters, and mounting accessories are available in combination with the BR40 vision sensor.
