Wilcoxon Research, Gaithersburg, MD, the leading supplier of quality vibration sensors, announces the release of the new PVM 100 Portable Vibration Meter, a handheld meter that measures equipment vibration in terms of acceleration, velocity or displacement.
The easy-to-use PVM 100 fits perfectly into Wilcoxon's Total Lower Cost (TLC) approach by offering an economical and effortless way to take vibration readings. Simply attach the accelerometer, press one button to select acceleration, velocity, or displacement, and hold it down to read the output on the large digital display. Plant managers who need to further pinpoint a noise source can plug headphones into the top-mounted jack.
"The PVM 100 provides a quick and easy check of vibration levels when a full vibration analysis is not yet warranted. Our digital vibration meter is most important to customers who have smaller plants, but recognize the value of measuring vibration levels. This product can be a straightforward first step to introducing a Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) program."
The lightweight PVM 100 comes with a convenient carrying case to keep all accessories close at hand. Included with the Portable Vibration Meter are:
- 784A accelerometer
- six-foot cable
- PT2 Probe Tip
- B3 Magnetic Mount
- SF6 mounting stud
The cable connects the 784A accelerometer to the input BNC connector. Attach the probe tip, magnet mount or mounting stud to achieve a range from 10 Hz to 10 kHz.
Wilcoxon's PVM 100 is ideal for small CBM programs. Use the PVM 100 to check vibration levels on fans, motors, pumps, blowers, compressors, chillers, gearboxes, and mixers, as well as many other industrial applications.
