Electric resistance welding basic principle is melting to plastic level approximately 0.125" of the plate's edges in order to join them by pressure immediately afterwards. Double Submerged Arc Welding is a process which applies an inner and outer seam to the pipe followed by a cold expansion process to enhance its dimensional characteristics. The pipe is then submitted to a hydrostatic test as well as visual and dimensional inspections according with the required specifications.
