The InfraCal Soot Meter, Model HATR-CP, now gives users an approved ASTM testing method (D7686-2011) for easy, on-site measurement of soot content in diesel engine lube oils in under 30 seconds. Measurement results are comparable to widely-used and accepted TGA and FT-IR analysis techniques. Soot concentration levels as high as 12-15% can be measured without sample preparation or dilution.
