  • Getting Connected

High-speed serial links have dramatically changed motion-control connectivity. The QMAC is a boxed controller for standard applications of up to four axes. Although capable of standalone operation, it can provide RS232, USB, and Ethernet communication links to a host computer. The UMAC controller

penalties associated with serial communications. Serial networks and buses can now replace both backplane buses and discrete field wiring. These serial links have several origins: from the personal computer world come USB, Ethernet, and FireWire; from the industrial I/O world come Fieldbuses

  • Tomorrow's computers

someday form the foundation of an electro-optical computer, one that mixes existing silicon processing with optic signal routing. The fully operational Gozinta (goes into) computer from AndersonDesign, Plainville, Conn., sports ten USB ports, four of which are on the movable pod for easy access. FireWire

  • Re: RJ45 Cable to USB Need Wiring Diagram

I got one of these adapters when my cable company installed my router. I didn't need to use it, and most likely you know someone who didn't need to use theirs. Ask around, I bet you can get one for free.

  • Re: RJ45 Cable to USB Need Wiring Diagram

I agree with other comments about non-compatability of the two network types... But if you just want the pin-out see http://pinouts.ru/SerialPortsCables/usb_cable_pinout.shtml...

  • Re: RJ45 Cable to USB Need Wiring Diagram

USB is a high speed serial port. It has a +5 VDC line, a ground and a high speed twisted pair. An RJ45 contains 4 twisted pairs. There is no possible way to connect them with a passive wiring pattern. There are translation chips that run from the USB power and convert the RJ45 signal to USB bi-direc...

  • Re: RJ45 Cable to USB Need Wiring Diagram

its called a "USB Serial converter" google for your local supplier or go online to find one! I did! BUT do not expect the speed you would get with a USB, they are kinda slow!

  • Re: Rj45 cable to USB need wiring diagram

I should mention that not all RJ45 connectors use Ethernet protocols. A RJ45 connector on a router will likely use Ethernet protocol though.

Looks like he may be able to look through the clear plastic cover of this model and draw his own wiring diagram. Wait, if he gets the adapter, he won't need a diagram.
