About Industrial Doors
Industrial doors are used within manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and other industrial, commercial, and laboratory environments such as clean rooms and office complexes. They feature a heavy-duty construction, durable hardware, and protective coatings for demanding applications. Typically, industrial doors are made of steel, stainless steel, or other metals and alloys. These metal doors may be insulated and equipped with security hinges and various locking devices. There are many types of products. Examples include strip doors, curtain doors, impact doors, swing doors, hinged doors, hangar doors, garage doors, roll-up doors, stainless steel doors, access doors, and silo doors. Features for industrial doors include vents, pressure-relief ports, and monorail notches. Some industrial doors are fireproof and corrosion-resistant. Others are sound-absorbing or chemical-resistant.
Strip doors and strip curtains are made of long, flexible, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) strips so that personnel or vehicles can pass through them. These industrial doors are used in warehouses, truck trailers, industrial coolers and freezers, and cleanrooms. By installing strip doors, temperatures can be maintained and energy consumption reduced. Curtain doors and air curtains are also available. Like strip doors, impact doors are designed to maintain air temperatures within heated or cooled areas. These industrial doors are more expensive than strip doors, but are longer-lasting and easier to pass-through. Some impact doors are made of PVC sheets and fitted with a polycarbonate window. They open with less than one pound of pressure and are available in sets of double doors.
