About Roller Dollies

Roller dollies are high capacity, low profile dollies used for moving, shifting, and positioning extremely heavy loads. Roller dollies are used as machinery dollies, load skates, slides, low profile wheels, casters, guides, linear bearings, and heavy-duty conveyors.

Roller dollies come in a variety of configurations that are useful for moving a variety of loads, including roller dollies that can swivel for making tight turns and steerable dollies that can move heavy loads with precision. Roller dollies may be used on hard floors or may also be used while mounted on tracks. High capacity roller dollies usually come equipped with steel chain rollers or may be fitted with nylon chain rollers to protect more delicate flooring. A roller dolly can also be modified with turntables or rocker tops for traversing uneven surfaces. Other modifications include guidance systems for roller dollies that run on tracks such as flat bars, I-beams, or channel or rail tracks. Smaller slide or skate dollies are metal platforms supported by casters and are used to move materials or pallets. Each caster may swivel or come with a braking mechanism or assembly.
