Stands and Supports

Stands and supports are used to hold a piece of equipment at an elevated position. This product area represents a large range of products - from heavy-duty industrial jack stands to light-weight, easily-adjustable camera and speaker stands. Other types of stands and supports include ratchet jacks, super jacks, and screw jacks; tank jacks, push-pull jacks, and trench braces; mine-roof supports; spreader jacks and planer jacks; and screw and cap assemblies. Jack stands are a common stands and supports. They are used to support cars, trucks, buses, and other motorized vehicles so that mechanics or maintenance personnel can make underbody repairs. Jacks are designed to be used in pairs and are usually sold in twos. Some jack stands have a four-legged, hardened steel base and a spring-loaded pawl. They secure the lifting column with a common machine bolt, and have a recessed column saddle which fits the panel rail on the vehicle to be repaired. Typically, reel stands are used in conjunction with take-up or spooling machines, pay-out equipment, or coiling machinery. Like jack stands, reel jacks are used in pairs to provide safe, reliable performance in various maintenance applications. Materials of construction and rated capacity are important specifications to consider when selected these stands and supports.

Stands and supports include a variety of light-weight, easily-adjustable camera and speaker stands. Camera stands are available in monopod, tripod, four-legged, and five-legged designs. Some products have a T-shaped base or resemble a gooseneck lamp or student microscope. Others are made of lightweight materials or feature a compact design for improved mobility. Materials of construction include metal, plastic, and carbon fiber. Like camera stands, speaker stands are available in one-legged or multi-legged designs. These stands and supports vary in terms of rated capacity, color, and style.
