East Greenbush, NY – (Business Wire) – 8/10/2010 – BtoB, the magazine for marketing strategists, has named Jeffrey M. Killeen, Chairman and CEO of GlobalSpec, to its annual roster of "Who's Who in B-to-B" for a second consecutive year. GlobalSpec is the leading specialized search engine, information resource, e-publishing and online events company for the engineering, industrial and technical communities. Earlier this year, GlobalSpec was also named to BtoB's 2010 "Media Power 50" Top Ten list.
According to the publication, the 2010 "Who's Who in B-to-B" list is a compilation of "key thought leaders and movers and shakers across a broad spectrum of the marketing industry." In compiling this year's report, BtoB focused on nine categories: marketers, agencies, direct, e-mail, search, business media, demand generation, events and associations. Killeen was honored as a leader in the field of search.
BtoB states, "When Killeen joined GlobalSpec in 2002, the engineering search engine had 194,000 registered users. Today, it has 5.8 million and continues to expand its suite of industrial product e-newsletters. The company distributes more than 60 e-newsletters and has a total subscriber base of almost 9 million."
A recognized expert in B2B e-media, Killeen shared his expertise in a general session at Engage 2010, the annual conference of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) held in Chicago in June. Killeen was also recently honored by Folio magazine and included in its annual "Folio 40" list as a C-Level Visionary for his stewardship of GlobalSpec.
Killeen has more than 25 years of executive management experience in the media, information services and Internet industries. Prior to joining GlobalSpec in 2002, he was CEO of Forbes.com, where he led the initial development of Forbes' portfolio of online financial information and electronic publishing businesses. Killeen also served as Chief Operating Officer of Barnes & Noble.com, leading that organization from a startup to the world's third-largest consumer e-commerce company at the time, and has held senior positions at Pacific Bell and Dun & Bradstreet.
