Regulators Readily Reject Renewables
Power project regulators are rejecting new projects at record rates. Implying environmental issues, the premise is that emissions-free power is preferred. Despite widespread support from environmental groups, boston.com reports that MA regulators say no to clean power as well by rejecting underground power cables from a proposed wind farm offshore of Cape Cod.

Bridge Collapsed, Transmission Towers Won't
The Tacoma Narrows in Washington State became infamous by the collapse of the "Galloping Girdy" suspension bridge in 1940. Tacoma Power proceeded cautiously when replacing an 80 year old transmission line located near the old bridge site. The project included specially designed cables to avoid the galloping effect that downed the bridge.

Nano-Encryption Names Products
RFID is already being used to track and trace Pharma products, but it has limitations. A Pharmaceutical Manufacturing article explains that RFID tracks the package, not the contents. Nano-encryption takes security to higher levels by identifying each pill or capsule, providing full, global traceability of products. Can Nano-encryption aid other areas as well?
