Given the global warming hullabaloo and claims of scientific unanimity, it is surprising that the World Meteorological Organization just reported that the first half of 2008 was the coolest in the last five years. In fact, this Power magazine column says that global temperatures have been declining during the entire 21st Century. Data suggest that predictions of global warming acolytes are overblown. According to the UK's Hadley Centre, the first half of 2008 is the coolest since 2000, and global temperatures have declined since 1998.
