   Centrifugal       Centrifugal exhausters are designed for continuous duty operations with little maintenance.  A high-speed impeller produces radial airflow, and velocity converted to pressure energy. 
   Positive Displacement       Positive displacement (PD) vacuum pumps allow a unit to be used with very long hoses. The displacement pump is a gas transfer vacuum pump, in which a gas-filled suction chamber is separated periodically from the entrance port. In most displacement pumps, the gas is compressed before flowing from the exhaust port. Preferably, a displacement pump operates in the viscous flow area. A rotary vane pump is a rotary positive displacement pump in which an eccentrically-mounted rotor slides tangentially along the interior wall of a stator (housing). Two or more vanes that move freely (in most cases radially) in rotor slits slide along the interior wall of the stator and divide the suction chamber into parts with changing volumes. 
   Regenerative       Regenerative devices are similar to centrifugal ones, but the chamber is designed to generate higher pressure. 
   Turbine       A turbine pump is a mechanical-kinetic vacuum pump operating on the basis of the viscous flow in which the momentum is directly imparted on the gas to be pumped by fast rotating components.

Ultra low penetration air (ULPA) filters are extended media dry filters in a rigid frame that have a minimum particle collection efficiency of 99.999 percent for particles greater than or equal to .12 micron in size.
