Machine Type

   Your choices are...
Applicator       Label applicators are used to label products or packaged media and can be manual, semi-automated, or automated.
Dispenser       The dispenser supplies a label that has been partially peeled from the webbing.
Print and Apply       Printer applicators, also known as print-and-apply models, are used for printing labels "on the fly" and then applying them. Printer applicators are preferred when a company has a large variety of products and pre-printing and storing every type of label becomes prohibitive. They are also used when special coding (e.g., date, batch number, serial numbers) are needed, when only small batches are run, and when changing labels for every batch is too time consuming.
Other       Other unlisted, specialized or proprietary packaging machines.

Application Method
   Application Method
   Your choices are...
Tamp       During tamp application, a label is dispensed onto a vacuum pad. When the photo eye detects a product, the air cylinder engages, causing the pad to come in momentary contact with the product to apply the label. The air cylinder then retracts and the next label is dispensed onto the pad.
Wipe On       During wipe on application, a label is dispensed to a hinged vacuum grid. When the photo eye detects a product, the air cylinder causes the hinge point to move forward where the application roller presses the leading edge of the label against the surface. As the product continues past the applicator, the rest of the label is rolled onto the surface.
Flag       For flag labeling, a small-diameter product (such as a threaded rod, tube, ink pen, etc.) is placed in a fixture that holds the two ends so the center is suspended. The label is dispensed onto the jaws of the flag module and held with a vacuum. The jaws wipe the label down around the product. The two ends of the label come together on the other side and adhere to each other so that the label sticks out from the product like a flag.
Blow-On       Blow-on labels are dispensed onto a vacuum grid. When the photo eye detects a product, a valve opens momentarily and a precise burst of air accurately "blows" the pressure-sensitive label onto the product without impact or damage.
Corner Wrap       Product is detected as it travels along a conveyor, causing a label to be printed and dispensed onto a 90° vacuum grid positioned in the path of the product. The product contacts the applicator and as it continues to move forward, the applicator rolls around the corner to apply the rest of the label to the side surface.
Wrap Around       For labeling round products (jars, bottles, tubes, cylinders, batteries, etc.), the operator lays the product onto the module rollers. As the label is dispensed, the product rolls and the label is evenly applied around the product.
Other       An application method other than those listed.

Automation and Features
Dispense Rate       The rate is the number of pieces per minute that a machine produces.
Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Automation
   Your choices are...
Manual       Manual machines aid in the setting or holding of products. Operators are responsible for most controls and activities.
Semi-Automatic       Semi-automatic machines allow a single operator to perform routine activities quickly and accurately. These machines help with both placement and packaging.
Automatic       Automatic machines perform activities without operator intervention. In fully-automatic applications, operator involvement is limited to the replenishment of packaging components. For example, operators load empty bags or cartons onto filling system magazines, load supply hoppers with bulk materials, place empty pallets on palletizer magazines, and remove completed cartons or pallets.
   Other       Other unlisted automation types.

   Features
   Your choices are...
Aseptic / Sanitary       Aseptic or sanitary machines are easy to clean and are designed to inhibit the growth or presence of pathogenic microorganisms.
Feeder Included       Machines are equipped with a device that feeds the product or package to its intended process.
Hazardous Location       Machines are designed for use in locations where hazardous situations are expected. These machines include devices that are designed to withstand explosions and exposure to fumes and radiation.
Portable       Machines are easy to move or transport.
Processor Interface       Machines have a computer interface that connects to a control network.
Stainless Steel Construction       Machines are made of stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
   Other       Other unlisted features.
