   Ball Knob       The knob is ball-shaped.  Ball knobs are often used for manual handling levers and shafts. 
   Bar Knob       Bar knobs are heavy-duty knobs that can be turned by the hand, and then tightened by inserting a bar between the prongs and turning it. 
   Adjustable Torque Knob       Adjustable torque knobs provide positive, repeatable clamping force. The knob turns freely in one direction once the desired torque has been reached. It locks in the other direction for positive retraction. The desired torque may be set with a wrench. 
   Clamping / Torque Knob       Clamping or torque knobs make it easy to apply clamping torque.  Typical applications include; instrument and machine tool adjusting devices, camera and telescope tripods, lawn mower handle releases, and valve controls. 
   Fluted Knob       Fluted knobs are round knobs that are fluted around the head.  The fluting offers a better grip. 
   Collet Knob       Collet knobs are made up of an outer body and internal hardware. The hardware grips the shaft 360º to insure a secure fit.  This style of knob must be installed with a nut driver and requires a separate cap on top. 
   Instrument / Control Knob       Instrument and control knobs are designed for electric or electronic equipment.  Collet knobs also fall under this category. 
   Lever Knob       Lever knobs are used on gearshifts, crank handles, levers, and power tools.  They are ergonomic and functional.  Lever knobs come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. 
   Push / Pull Knob       Push / pull knobs have enlarged heads and tapered shanks to provide sufficient grasp for pulling or lifting and large top surfaces for pushing.  Typical applications include; push-pull rods, palm switch knobs, lid knobs, palm grasp knobs, push buttons and drawer pulls. 
   Pushbutton Knob       A type of push-on knob that is designed for use on a pushbutton switch. 
   Mushroom Shaped Knob       Mushroom knobs are round knobs with an enlarged flat head that looks like a mushroom. 
   Slider Knob       Slider knobs are push-on knobs for use on a slide potentiometer. 
   Spinner Knob       Large round knobs with a flat head.  Some spinner knobs may have an indentation or hole for easy spinning with one finger, or a small handle for easy spinning. 
   Thumb Screw Knob       Thumbscrew knobs are miniature knobs that can easily be tightened with the thumb. 
   Two Arms / Lobes (T-bar Knob)       Knobs with two arms or lobes.  They are sometimes called T-bar knobs or simply bar knobs. 
   Three Arms / Lobes or Triangular Knob       A bar with three arms or lobes, or a bar that is triangular.  Some triangular knobs are called trigon knobs. 
   Four Arms / Lobes       A bar with four arms or lobes.  They are also referred to as hand knobs. 
   Five Arms / Lobes (Stars Knob)       A knob with five arms or lobes, or a knob that is shaped like a star. 
   Six or More Arms / Lobes       A knob with six or more arms or lobes.

   Bushing       A bushing is inserted in the bore to limit the size of the opening, resist abrasion, or serve as a guide.
