   Ruled Grating       Ruled gratings are produced by physically forming grooves into a reflective surface with a diamond mounted on a ruling engine.  Ruled gratings have a relatively sharp peak around their blaze wavelength as a consequence of their "saw tooth" groove profile.  
   Holographic       Holographic gratings are formed when a series of interference fringes, corresponding to the grooves of the desired grating, are recorded on a photosensitive layer, and the subsequent chemical treatment forms a modulated profile on the surface of the blank by selective dissolution. 
   Other       Any other diffraction grating type not listed.

Grating Performance
   Wavelength Range:      The spectral range covered by a grating is dependent on groove spacing and is the same for ruled and holographic gratings with the grating constant.

   Visible       Diffraction gratings that are designed for use in the 380 nm to 750 nm wavelength range 
   IR       Diffraction gratings that are designed for use above 750 nm.

   Groove Frequency:       The number of grooves per unit length for the diffraction grating. The groove frequency determines the spectral range of the diffraction grating. 
   Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.
   Blaze Wavelength:       The optimal wavelength of the diffraction grating.  Ruled gratings, due to their "sawtooth" groove profile, have a relatively sharp peak around their blaze wavelength while some holographic gratings have a flatter spectral response.
