   Processes
   Your choices are...
Coiling       Processes include coiling of the wire.
Drawing       In the manufacture of wire, pulling the metal through a die or series of dies for reduction of diameter to specified size
Finishing       Processes include finishing of the wire.
Heat Treating       Heat treating processes include: annealing, tempering, patenting. Annealing is heating to and holding at a suitable temperature and then cooling at a suitable rate, for such purposes as reducing hardness, improving machinability, facilitating cold working, producing a desired microstructure, or obtaining desired mechanical, physical, or other properties. Tempering is the reheating a quench-hardened or normalized ferrous alloy to a temperature below the transformation range and then cooling at any rate desired. In heat treatment, reheating hardened steel to some temperature below the A1 temperature for the purpose of decreasing hardness and/or increasing toughness. Patenting consists of passing the wire through tubes in a furnace at about 970oC. This high temperature treatment produces uniform austenite of rather large grain size. The subsequent cooling - in air or molten lead - is rapid since the sections treated are generally small (e.g. wire rods), so that the resulting structure consists of very fine pearlite preferably with no separation of primary ferrite.
Rolling       Reducing the cross-sectional area of metal stock, or otherwise shaping metal products, through the use of rotating rolls. A term applied to the operation of shaping and reducing metal in thickness by passing it between rolls which compress, shape and lengthen it following the roll pattern.  Cold rolling, hot rolling.
Spooling       Processes include the spooling of wire.
Other / Specialty       Other unlisted or specialty process.

Anodizing       Anodizing is a process for finishing aluminum alloys that employs electrolytic oxidation of the aluminum surface to produce a protective oxide coating. The anodic coating consists of hydrated aluminum oxide. It is considered resistant to corrosion and abrasion. Conventional coatings are 0.1 to 1.0 mil thick and are mostly transparent, but may be colored.  Anodizing preserves the natural luster, and texture of the metal itself. An anodized coating is hard, durable, will never peel, and, under normal conditions, will never wear through.  This category includes hard coat anodizing.
Braiding       Braiding forms a woven mesh of metallic wires, usually either copper or steel, wrapped around the outside of one or more conductive cables. It provides shielding against EMI, RFI, and cross talk from other cables.
Bonding       Bonding is the process of connecting wires from the package leads to the chip or bonding pads
Cabling       The twisting together of two or more insulated conductors to form a cable.
Cutting       Processes include cutting of the wire.
Insulation / Jacketing Extrusion       Extrusion of the insulation or jacketing for a cable or braid.
Printing       Printing on the finished wire or cable product.
Slitting       Processes include slitting of wire.  Flat wire may be produced by slitting.
Straightening       Processes include straightening of the wire.
Weaving       The weaving of wire together to form a wire cloth.
Wire Forms       The supplier has the capability to form wire into shapes such as wire shelving, wire grid, wire guards, and wire baskets.
Wrapping       The wrapping of a spirally applied tape over an insulated or uninsulated wire.
Other / Specialty       Other unlisted services.
