Type
   Type
   Your choices are...
Animal / Livestock Scale       Animal scales and livestock scales are designed to weigh single heads of livestock.
Axle Scale       Axle scales or axle-load scales are fixed scales for weighing the axles of highway vehicles. They can determine the combined load for all of the wheels on a single axle or a tandem axle.
Bench / Counter Scale       Bench scales and counter scales are designed for use atop a bench or counter.
Checkweigher, In-Motion       In-motion checkweighers are used to verify that the weight of a product is within prescribed limits. These process scales weigh parts while in-motion and usually have a conveyor belt.
Check Weighing Scale       Check weighing scales are also used to verify that the weight of a product is within prescribed limits; however, unlike in-motion checkweighers, they do not have a conveyor belt. Instead, the product must be manually loaded and unloaded.
Conveyor Scale       Conveyor scales are process scales with a conveyor belt. They are designed to weight parts while in-motion.
Counting Scale       Counting scales convert the weight of multiple parts into piece-count information.
Crane Scale       Crane scales or hanging hook scales are designed to weigh loads that are suspended from an overhead crane. Typically, the nominal capacity of a crane scale is 500 lbs. or more.
Explosion Proof / Intrinsically Safe Scale       Explosion-proof scales and intrinsically safe (IS) scales are designed so that sparks or thermal effects will not cause ignition or explosion.
Floor Scale       Floor scales are designed to be used on the floor.
Hanging Scale / Balance       Hanging scales and hanging balances are used to weigh objects by suspending them in air below the scale.
Hydraulic Scale       Hydraulic scales use hydraulic pistons or diaphragms to measure weight. The pressure created in the hydraulic fluid is converted to a force or weight reading.
Hydrostatic Scale       Hydrostatic scales use hydrostatic load cells in place of electronics. The absence of electronics makes them well-suited to moist or wet environments. Hydrostatic scales can be used in a wide variety of applications, and include truck scales, tank scales, and batch mixers.
Laboratory / Analytical Balance       Laboratory balances and scales are used to measure mass in a laboratory setting. They are sometimes called analytical balances and top-loading balances. Laboratory balances should be extremely sensitive and equipped with a high readability and broad weighing range.
Lift Truck Scale       Lift truck scales mount to industrial lift trucks for weighing heavy objects while in motion.
Mechanical Scale / Balance       There are many types of mechanical scales and mechanical balances, including the equal-arm balance (the original scale design was invented over 5000 years ago) and the sliding weight scale. Equal-arm balances have an arm supported on a pivot bearing and two pans suspended from the arms. A sliding weight scale uses a beam with a sliding weight. The weight is moved along the beam until it achieves balance, and the weight is read from graduations on the beam.
Medical / Personal Scale       Medical scales and personal scales are used for weighing people.
Moisture Balance       Moisture balances are used to determine the moisture content of small material samples. They typically have an integral heater to remove the moisture content.
Monorail Scale       Monorail scales weigh objects from an overhead, monorail track.
Pallet Truck Scale       Pallet truck scales and lift truck scales mount to pallet trucks for weighing heavy objects while in motion.
Platform Scale (Drum, Tank, etc.)       Platform scales are used to weigh objects in a drum, tank, IBC tote, or barrel container. These scales may contain ramps to facilitate loading and unloading.
Pocket Scale       Pocket scales are small, battery-powered scales that can be carried in a shirt pocket.
Postal / Parcel Scale       Postal scales are used to determine shipping weight or delivery charges for letters or parcels delivered by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) or private shipping companies.
Price Computing / Retail Scale       Price computing scales are used in retail to determine the price of goods based on weight.
Railroad Scale       Railroad scales consist of rail sections fitted with strain gauges for in-motion weighing or rail cars. Railroad scales are also referred to as rail scales.
Refuse Scale       Refuse scales are used in refuse collection. They weigh the contents of a refuse container.
Truck Scale       Truck scales are used to weigh tractor-trailer trucks. Truck scales can weigh the entire truck. By contrast, axle scales can weigh individual axles.
Weigh Beam       Weigh beams are portable weighing systems that can be used in many applications. They consist of two beams that are spaced as necessary. Weigh beams are also referred to as weigh bars.
Weigh Module / Assembly       Weigh modules are used to convert tanks or other structures to a scale. They are made of load cells packaged with suspension and mounting hardware to mount the tank or structure. There are two basic types of weigh modules: compression and tension. Weigh modules are also referred to as weigh assemblies and weigh mounts.
Wheel Weigher       Wheel weighers are small platform scales with ramps. They are used to weigh individual wheel loads.
