The versatile LS1 advanced materials testing system provides the packaging industry with a complete, high accuracy, high specification materials testing solution up to 1 kN (225 lbf), for product development and manufacture. Capable of testing and validating packaging materials and finished products to verify package integrity and suitability for transportation, storage and for safety and consumer protection, it features: • A full suite of control and test software functionality with seamless data transfer • Enhanced slow movement capability with linear response • Powerful security and audit trail function • Dedicated sample holding grips and fixtures The LS1 universal testing machine has a new mechanical design featuring linear guide technology, pre-loaded ball screws and sophisticated software compensation systems for high accuracy measurements even over very small extensions or compressions. A load accuracy of 0.5% down to 1% of load cell value provides high accuracy measurement across a wide range of loads and means many users will now only need a single load cell for their applications. With an extended crosshead speed range from 0.01 – 2032 mm/min, the LS1 can be used for tensile and compression testing, friction, tearing, peeling, insertion/extraction and creep/relaxation measurements.
