Elasto Proxy has two locations, one in Boisbriand, Quebec, and the other in Newmarket, Ontario for a grand total of 20,000 square feet and 35 employees. Expansion has always been a key feature of Elasto Proxy Inc. With the consolidation of the rubber industry and the outsourcing of manufacturers, an opportunity was created within the industry to branch out. Elasto Proxy seized this opportunity and created a fabrication shop which now forms the production element of the company. They kicked off this new and exciting venture with the acquisition of vulcanizing presses to make spliced rings from cord, tubing, and profiles. Since then Elasto Proxy has added molding presses to make molded corners, and a tape machine that laminates tape to profiles using a 3M GBTS system. The largest acquisition has been their water jet machine which has two heads and a 5’ x 10’ cutting area. Elasto Proxy’s latest realisation is an automated film splice system. This enables them to splice simple, complex or even taped profiles without using inserts. The resulting gasket is high quality, virtually seamless and will not fail even in the most demanding of applications. With so many changes and expansions, the company needed to keep up to date on all the latest technologies and developments in the business world as well as the rubber world. Hence, in 1999 they partnered with Prophet 21 Software Solutions. This offered Elasto Proxy low transaction costs and management of its inventory with real time status between locations. Also, Elasto Proxy has been ISO accredited since February 2001 (ISO 9001:2000 as of December 2003). This has allowed the company to design a Quality Management System that ensures quality in all aspects of its operation. Elasto Proxy's focus has continued to be on human resources and the personal growth of the individual. They concentrate on recognizing and improving the individual skills of their employees. Through processes of evaluation they hope to determine the greatest uses of each employee’s unique talents to provide customers with the best possible service. Elasto Proxy's future goals are very exciting.
