Data acquisition is the digitizing and processing of multiple sensor or signal inputs for the purpose of monitoring, analyzing and/or controlling systems and processes. Signal conditioning includes the amplification, filtering, converting, and other processes required to make sensor output suitable for rereading by computer boards.
Gas detectors and gas sensors interact with a gas to initiate the measurement of its concentration. The detector or sensor then provides output to an instrument to display the measurements.
Gas chromatography detectors (GC detectors) identify solutes as they exit the chromatographic column. A chromatogram is generated plotting the signal versus time.
