Harry Appleton founded NWCC in 1947 as a proprietorship and incorporated the business in 1952. Throughout the years, Mr. Appleton, together with key employees, formed three additional corporations to handle various functions and product lines. These three companies were later merged into NWCC, with two now functioning as divisions under the National Wire & Cable Corporation parent.
NWCC consists of three distinct, but integrated divisions; Dynatronic Cable Engineering, National Cable Molding, and National Wire & Cable. Together these three dynamic divisions occupy over 120,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space within a group of seven buildings at their Los Angeles headquarters. The modern multiple-shift factories support regular employment of about 200 people.
In 1989, the company formed an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), to provide equity ownership in the company for the employees. Below are short descriptions of the three divisions.
