About Ondax, Inc.

Business Type: Manufacturer

Ondax, founded in 2000 by holography experts from the California Institute of Technology and the University of Bonn, is the world's leader in Volume Holographic Gratings. The PowerLocker® VHGs are manufactured in a proprietary photosensitive glass that has extremely high damage threshold and is very robust. Ondax built a manufacturing and quality control infrastructure for high volume production that guarantees repeatable performance on every part whether making one VHG or tens of thousands per month. The Volume Holographic Grating has many advantages over thin film and fiber Bragg gratings. The narrow-band filtering capability in reflection mode (0.1 nm) over a large aperture (25mm) is unique.

This unique filtering technology is used for high-power and low-power laser diode wavelength stabilization, beam combining, NoiseBlock™ ASE and SureBlock™ laserline notch filtering, PicoPulse™ pulse compression/stretching, astronomy multi-line filtering, and hyper-spectral imaging.

ONDAX also manufactures the SureLock™ line of Wavelength Stabilized Laser Diodes, Pigtailed Lasers, Free-space modules, Collimated Lasers and Fiber Coupled Modules. The lasers are stabilized using the Ondax PowerLocker®, a volume holographic grating which diffracts a specified wavelength at a given diffraction efficiency. The Wavelength Stabilized Diodes are lasers in a 5.6mm TO can or C-mount package. The diodes are available in standard wavelengths of 405nm, 640nm, 658nm, 685nm, 780.25nm, 785nm and 808nm. Custom wavelengths are also available. Applications include DPSSL, Raman Spectroscopy, RGB Laser Sources, Frequency Doubling, Beam Combining, Metrology, Flow Cytometry, Storage, Graphic Arts, and more.
