About U.S. Resistor, Inc.

Business Type: Manufacturer

Manufacturer of Non-Inductive, Ceramic and Organic Industrial Resistors

U. S. Resistor is a registered ISO 9001-2000 manufacturer of non-inductive special purpose and industrial resistors. A privately held corporation located in St. Mary's Pennsylvania, U. S. Resistor was formed in 1992 and has over 50 years experience in manufacturing resistors for various applications.

U.S. Resistor uses over 32,000 square feet of manufacturing area to produce a wide range of bulk and special purpose resistors for industrial and automotive applications. Ceramic and Organic materials are used to manufacture non-inductive resistors.

U.S. Resistor's non-inductive special purpose and industrial resistors have found uses in many applications including high power and high energy surge applications. Resistors spotted at high voltage load points, such as spark plugs, distributor points or coil leads will limit spurious high frequency signals from being carried on transmission lines. Larger ceramic resistors offer excellent protection in any electrical apparatus where electrical spikes of high energy are unwanted such as circuit breakers, surge protection or load banks.

These resistors can be manufactured in a variety of sizes and shapes including rods, discs, sleeves and rings depending on the application and needs of the customer. Electrical contact is established by means of depositing various metals such as brass or copper on the resistors, molded on contacts, capped leads, or secured metal caps.

Resistor Applications

Typical applications areas where U.S. Resistor's non-inductive bulk resistors are utilized include RF amplifiers and generators, broadcasting equipment, motor controls, power conditioning and X-ray/CAT scan equipment, defibrillator and patient monitoring, relays and circuit breakers, high voltage and laser power supplies, plus pulse power testing equipment.
