Des-Case Corporation designs, manufactures and markets a complete line of contamination control products for a wide range of industries and applications. The company’s products feature designs unparalleled in the marketplace and are used wherever lubricant life and performance are essential to daily operations. They are a pioneer in breather technology for a wide variety of industrial applications. Des-Case breathers enhance the performance and longevity of hydraulically driven production equipment, as well as related oils and other non-aqueous fluids.
The U.S. corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations are strategically located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee (just outside Nashville). The central location was chosen for its close proximity to 75% of U.S. major markets. These markets are within one day’s drive of Nashville.
The European subsidiary, Des-Case Europe, was developed to provide localized service to the European Community. A joint venture with a French partner, this location in southwest France serves as Des-Case’s European headquarters. The European Union is the primary markets served for this location.
Des-Case desiccant breathers are air filter and water vapor removal systems designed to replace traditional breather caps on fluid containing reservoirs, storage tanks and gearboxes. The breathers eliminate moisture and contaminants in these systems, thereby improving performance.
Des-Case offers breather lines to meet the needs of varying applications and operating environments (product nomenclature designates size):
- Disposable breathers (DC-BB, DC-1, DC-2, DC-3, DC-4) are Des-Case's most popular line and provide the most cost-effective means of protection. A clear body allows the user to easily recognize when the breather must be changed. The blue silica gel inside changes to a light pink color when maximum water adsorption has been reached. Three-micron filtration exceeds most industry standards.
- Rebuildable Steel breathers, available with carbon steel or stainless steel housings, are growing in popularity. These units are ruggedly constructed for high heat and particularly harsh environments and handle higher airflow rates than the disposable units. A sight glass indicates when the unit must be rebuilt-an in-service process which takes less than five minutes. One-micron filtration and an increased filter area are additional features of the steel line.
Des-Case's FlowGuard™ line of fluid handling products filter contaminates from lubricants and allow for clean transfers of fluids.
Des-Case has earned the business of many Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. These include Ford, General Motors, Parker-Hannifin, DuPont, Castrol, Caterpillar, Georgia-Pacific, and Weyerhauser. A sampling of international customers include the French Power Authority, the French Navy, and Germany-based Thyssen. Private label manufacturing is also provided for several major corporations in the fluid power industry.
Des-Case's distribution channel consists of 115 worldwide distributors. Distributors typically sell Des-Case as an auxiliary line to other hydraulic products such as oil and related fluids, reservoirs, gearboxes, filters, hoses, lubrication and fluid power systems, etc. Direct sales are provided on a case-by-case basis to OEM accounts only.
