The thermodynamic trap has cyclic on-off operation with a disc that is pushed open by incoming condensate and closes tightly when steam tries to escape. (read more)

Free float & thermostatic traps have a ball float and a thermostatic air vent that work together to remove both air and condensate from the steam system. During strat-up, the air vent is open to allow air and other non-condensable gases to escape. Steam entering the trap causes the air vent to close. The free float is lifted off its seating position as condensate fills the trap body. (read more)
