Very often happened, still happening in particularly of portable angle grinders used for most of the fabrication work, which is called Depressed centre wheel (D.C.Wheel), I saw practically wheels burst while operating. No one highlights because most of the labourers are contract or casulas, Next the Chinese wheels are 50% less compared to Indian make.No one bothered to see the shelf life.

Q:
Is there any advice you want to share with users to help them avoid common errors in selection or usage of bonded abrasives?
3 answers
Answers:
Resinoid Bonded grinding wheels will be used up within 2 years from the date of manufacture. This recommendation assumes that Resinoid Bonded grinding wheels have been stored under ideal storage conditions. It may be true under ideal storage conditions Resinoid Bonded grinding wheels can survive without any degradation in strength for well over two years; however, it is always wise to suspect any wheels over two years old and have them re-inspected and/or re-speed tested to determine if there has been any degradation in strength. If the wheels are stored under less than ideal conditions, they may have a much shorter shelf life depending upon the severity of storage conditions.
~Raja R, Research & Development, Karur, India
Do not give importance blindly on imported abrasives. First preference is the safety aspect of abrasives should be most considered. Whether tested for its actual usage, speed, suitable for the application or not. Shelf life for use.
~Venugopal C.K., Project Manager, Bangalore, India
Yes, we have to compare the new technology and willing them changing to test the new one.
