Q:
Do you have any advice for people relative to buying or using V-belts and V-ribbed belts?
18 answers
Answers:
Follow basic & sound removal & installation practices. Do not "jump" the belt on. Encourage/require your maintenance folks to learn how to check the sheave profile. I am convinced we replace belts even though the root cause is worn sheaves.
~Mark Lyman, Site Training Coordinator, Deepwater, NJ

~Steve C, Line Maintenance Mechanic/ Industrial Electrician, Allentown, PA
It is important that if the belts do not run in a "circle", that they realize that it needs at least a kevlar belt.
