The influencing of the industrial filtration equipment design usually associated with the the process requirement. The input ( the stock feed) parameter need to control or monitor to achieve value. Then, it will transfer into the "filtration system". In the filtration system allows certain process such as filtration cycle, cake washing, cake drying to expect the desired output. From my perspective of view, I may biased to Larox Hoesch / PMI - filter presses & Automatic Pressure filters. However, the new starter high growth company has innovative filtration equipment manufacturer with Intellectual Properties Protection that create a competition barrier to the established low efficient giant company. One good example is the Korean company in recent survey.

Do you know of any disastrous mistakes that occurred due to the incorrect usage of industrial filtration equipment?

Usually a filtration trial is required to be conducted at the client premises if there are unknown parameters or a new process. If the result is not satisfied, we shall tell our end user the problem that current process need to fine tune, such as pH, polymer to obtain the constant result. If the filter press is not suitable, we shall tell our client to search for alternative filtration method.

Yes, if the correct products are not used the end product could be out of spec or worse than that. It could give someone a severe illness due to possible bacteria in the product.

What would your design or feature "wish list" be for this product?

The design of filter press tried to be a modular system that the equipment owner always minimized the spare part inventory. We wish that it can be a car that trade like a commodity in the world. The plant owner / stake holder prefer to this filter press because it was proved in the process. Moreover, the brand and product can be found in certain university textbooks or journals.

Something new to this industry. People have worked on cartridge filters to remove chill haze from whiskey and regenerate the cartridge but have not been successful. This is a challenge.

This industrial filtration is not new but it is growing moderately. I personally recommended a text book written by E.S. Tarleton (Senior Lecturer, Department of Chemical Engineering, Loughborough University, UK), R.J. Wakeman ( Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Loughborough University, UK)--" Solid / Liquid Separation: Equipment Selection and Process Design". It is very useful text book for me personally speaking.

The industrial filtration equipment " Filter press" is a production machine that meet our customer output yield. This filter press widely use in the palm oil, beer and yeast, mining industries mainly use in solid / liquid separation. It can be use in waste water treatment plant such as paint & pigment, certain Electrical and electronic waste water treatment. Usually the production waste required filtering before in fluent into the river as environment protection law is required.

Yes, ask what you are getting because what you are told is not entirely true sometimes. As in what degree of removal does the filter give. This is nominal or absolute. This needs to be explained.
