Converted a clamp-on GE meter to a portable meter to move around a plant with no installed meters to get a water balance and suggest areas for permanent installations (i.e. sometimes the operator can tell how much water is being used through other monitoring and sometimes their estimates are not correct so this area benefits with an installed meter).

Keep in mind how often your flow starts and stops and remember that any moving parts are subject to greater wear the more often this happens. Know how fast a pump starts up and try to reduce the shock from quick start-up whenever possible.

Ultrasonic flow meters are not simple to operate and easy to maintain flow meters. In orifice flow meters, the achieving of DP, lines getting jammed, no readily available software on net to cross check/ simulate the flow at various regimes are big problems.
