LED drivers control the amount of current and voltage supplied to light emitting diodes (LEDs). An LED driver IC is an integrated circuit (IC) that provides brightness control and backlighting color control. They are usually found in an LED driver circuit, which can be used to test an LED in order to maintain brightness and increase LED life.   Types   White LED drivers provide white light for backlighting and offers very low noise with efficiencies as high as 90%.

Low drop analog driver, with analog dimming. I miss sometimes a good converter from the AC line (230V) to 12 or 24V DC, which could be adjusted precisely to minimize losses in the analog current source. BTW, adjustable converters (i.e. Meanwell) have low efficiency < 85%.

LED driver should be with good efficiency and power factor(>0.9) and very important is current regulation within 3%, and individual current control for series parallel combination.

If they use the some BUS to power a video driver or a camera it is always a good exercise to have a filter.

Is there any advice you want to share with users to help them avoid common errors in selection or usage of LED drivers?

Answers:
Do not drive the LED's to the max manufacturing specs Do not select a LED by the max power, and rather by the amount of light Using a PWM dimming in your design be careful with choosing the driver, sometimes they do not dim from 0-100% Use low freq. up 5K for a nice dimming Do not drop a lot of power on your drive rather have a DC-DC regulator for the max LED voltage For high power use led driver with external FET's driver

Technical specifications are more important than price or else power loss will be there in the LED driver, which will not full fill the purpose of using LED for power saving.
