What new technologies are influencing gasket and gasketing design?

Some of the new technologies that currently have major influence are : Spiral would gaskets are being replaced with steel trap / self locator gaskets - that can be used across the various pressure ratings. Kammprofile Gaskets - that features excellent anti-blowout properties together with the reliability of a solid metal-to-metal seal combined with a soft sealing face to provide a perfect joint - now being used with heat exchangers, vessels and reactors and various flanged connections. Rubber steel ring gaskets = Rubber steel gasket with vulcanized steel ring for safe centering and perfect sealing according to DIN EN 1514-1.
