Answers:
Buying low quality led lighting products for architectural installations which could cause significantly high cost for replacement If the outdoor protection is not enough or if components fail. The maintenance cost for lighting installations which can only be accessed with difficulties can be huge.

- Lamps and modules are FRAGILE! handle with extreme care. - Use caution with modules and drivers - there are many types to choose from compatibility is an issue - Lamps installed in open fixtures outdoors WILL be subject to theft.

No. But the improper encapsulation of lamp (remained acidity of encapsulant), containing the open emitter, can very quickly damage the emitting phosphor layer on the diode.
