Q:
What new technologies are influencing compressed air dryer design?
31 answers
Answers:
- Refrigerant Compressor Manufacturer's - Use of Scroll Compressors for example - to reduce the energy costs. - Improved Heat Exchangers - in terms of both design and MOC. - Improved Instrumentation and closed loop controls. - Improved part load handling with responsive Thermal expansion valves and hot gas by-pass valves -Improved changeover valves for better reliability - In case of desiccant driers
~Vinay Gupta, Marketing/Sales, Nagpur, India
Integrated System, not really new technology but new packaging. Now instead of a separate refrigerated dryer sized for ambient conditions and easy to access, imports are explaining the benefits for their integrated dryer which is housed in the same cabinet where added heat is a factor and if in warmer climates the systems are less than adequate and fail, leaving you with 1/2 a compressor.
~Gregory S, Sales Engineer and Energy Auditor, Fresno, CA
Low energy consumption is beginning to be a key draw for users. Any technology that uses the least energy will be a major breakthrough for any dryer manufacturer. Likewise, nano technology has been a new development recently.

Q:
From your perspective, which companies are creating the most innovative compressed air dryers?
29 answers
Answers:
Rule out companies trying to push Variable Speed Dryers, that innovation has proven a failure too many times and it answers a question no one asked. Cycling dryers, Thermal Mass and Digital Scroll provide the same energy savings in a proven package trouble free.
