I have never worked in paint spraying, but at present moment I am installing a new plant to apply anti corrosive bonds to steel structures: metallizing by arc spray system with zinc, copper, brass or aluminum coats and/or paint spraying.

It was the painting of window grills where conventional spray guns were used, this resulted in loss of paint during application and further due to the transfer efficiency with almost losing 30%.

Do you know of any disastrous mistakes that occurred due to the incorrect usage of spray painting equipment?

Answers:
Spray Painting guns attached to the impeller attachment for an automatic vertical movement, in the mass production using over head conveyer system. Components were observed to have a lot of spitting due to improper synchronization of the impeller and the conveyer.

Coatings applied failed to cure properly because of improper ratio settings on plural component spray equipment. Coatings had to be removed and job done over. Major costs involved.

Hitting of electrostatic application with object can cause a serious fire accident in a paint shop. So the mounting of part while painting plays a very important role.
