Q:
What new technologies are influencing hose fitting design?
35 answers
Answers:
Machinery is becoming lighter and more compact, this makes it necessary to have a greater selection of fittings to allow the assembly of hydraulic components into smaller spaces Also hydraulic systems keep using higher pressures.
~Chris J., Builder/Contractor, Edmonton, Canada
Surface treatments are becoming more environment friendly and long lasting, new oils are more aggressive, some hose lines are only manufacturer rated -> no standard specifications.
~Sampsa V, Technical Support, Tre, Finland
The hose ends and adapters have been upgraded, however that may be just to justify purchasing different hose ends and making life more difficult for the end user. Working pressure is improving as well as hose flexibility.
~Bill T, Fleet Manager, Lakewood, WA
Green technologies, new materials research/chemical engineering, no drip concerns, future emergence of hydrogen as mainstream energy source.
~Steve M, Marketing/Sales, Bakersfield, CA
Hose to end fittings are getting much better. better machining is making them easier and better to fit.
~Peter Saunders, Home mechanic, Adelaide, Australia
