1. While buying air conveyors for bulk solid material, please always try to find out if any prototype design is available with the supplier. A miniature plant will solve most of the issues as the characteristic of the material plays vital role in conveying.
Air conveying systems, when designed, installed, and maintained properly, can be a plant's dream. There are only a few E&C Companies that have in-house expertise with the experience to ensure proper systems for various products.
Be careful with the changes in the product produced by long transport line (eg grain size reduction). Be careful with long vertical pipes, they trend to clog.
Explain everything you can about your potential application to your component supplier; if he's good he'll be willing to help in selecting what you need.
Draft specifications. Define Material properties. Provide accurate route map with dimensions. Pilot run test if possible before reviewing commercials.
Pay attention to the products you want to convey, and share the information with the engineering dept. about all the technical data
Be aware of the conveyor that will best suit your application. There are many parameters which need to be addressed and maintained regularly.
If you work with continuous systems, better to use conveying system.
Always verify the functionality of the product before buying.
Think carefully about operating costs - Think about maintainability
Ensure that the air is heated and dry.
