Q:
What new technologies are influencing ball valve design?
41 answers
Answers:
Earlier Ball valves are limited to temperature applications below 170 degrees due to the selection of soft materials. Now the selection of seating elements coincides with the parent material like steel leads to the versatile selection of ball valves for high temperature services.Virtual development in spraying technologies leads to revolution in ball valves.
~Prem K, Design Engineer, Chennai, India
Hard face treatment technologies. More and more process meets high temp. high flow velocity, erosion condition. For this application, we usually select metal seat ball valve. And hard face treatment technology will influence valve life and process safety.
~Jerry HE, Project Manager, BEIJING, CHINA
For saving in the cost of manufacturing, full proof method of producing spherical balls, and it's seat. By generating form, i.e. through centrifugal casting, and grinding perfectly both seating spherical diameter faces.
~Engineering, Consulting, Kothrud, Pune, India
