Do you have any advice for people relative to buying or using wire rope and mechanical cable?

Take in account the total cost of ownership. Check if all actual standards are taken into account by your supplier. Everything which costs a bit of nothing is also worth it. Look critically at ropes-choice of supplier of the machines.
