What new technologies are influencing industrial coating design?
39 answers
Chrome like finishing is important to replacing conventional plating technologies. However, for cost and quality concerns, PVD + UV coating is an approach which receive great interests to the industry in automotive components supply. Presently, for interior decorative use, there is no problem, but challenges exist for the exterior application, especially which requires to pass CASS specification.

Many of them have been developing to obtain composite coating technologies to comply with the demand in EU countries. I don't know a company claims that they are capable of providing the products which have passed CASS for exterior's application and will launch into a new model.
~Charles Hsu, Engineering Consultant, Hsin-chu, Taiwan
All the big companies have extensive research facilities; for the smaller it is harder and harder to compete in these high exacting markets; they turn to the less demanding and home market paints. Which one is the most innovative?
~PATRICK P, Engineering Consultant, Leopoldsburg, Belgium
Most major coating companies are doing tremendous work on new technologies and each one of them does not want to be left behind by competitors or they will lose market share or Clients over the long term.
